| About Jesse Fischer |
Jesse Fischer is a keyboard player and producer living in Brooklyn, NY. Growing up in music-minded family, Jesse was exposed to a multitude of traditions, including European classical music, folk music from around the world, and American soul music. Beginning with piano when he was a toddler, and picking up drums, bass, guitar and clarinet soon after, this young multi-instrumentalist began performing professionally by the time he was 15. Living in Jersey, halfway between New York City and Philadelphia, Jesse was especially drawn both to the dirty minimalism of New York hip-hop and the warmth of Phillly soul. It is this combination of smooth, luscious harmonies and raw, hard-edged rhythms that define his unique sound as a producer and composer.
Jesse's college years found him studying jazz piano at Mason Gross School of the Arts (Rutgers University) with world-renowned educator Stanley Cowell. At Mason Gross, Jesse also had the opportunity to play in ensembles led by such jazz notables as Ralph Peterson, Ralph Bowen, Vic Juris, and Mike Richmond. Additionally, he attended the School for Improvisational Music in New York, where he took lessons with Vijay Iyer and Andy Milne. He has appeared in clubs, concert halls, and festivals throughout the world, as well as on television shows including Late Night with Conan O’Brien (NBC), T4 (Channel Four, UK), Later with Jools Holland (BBC2, UK), and 90210 (The CW). Currently, Jesse performs internationally with Freddie Jackson and S-Curve/EMI recording artist Little Jackie.
